* UPPER MATERIAL - The QUANTUM Q1 head guard is made of robust synthetic leather. The inside is made of a soft and slightly roughened polyester material. The material is sweat-repellent, prevents the head protection from slipping and is also very pleasant on the skin.
* FIT & ADJUSTMENT - The QUANTUM Q1 head guard can be precisely adjusted to fit almost any head. The ergonomic shape guarantees a firm and stable fit on the head and prevents slipping. It provides optimum protection for the head and offers maximum comfort when worn. The wide Velcro fastener at the back of the head can be closed very easily and firmly, making it very easy to adjust the circumference. The length of the head guard can be adjusted very precisely to almost any head length using the lacing on the top of the head.
* PROTECTION & PADDING - The padding consists of several layers of EVA and latex foams that guarantee very effective shock absorption. The slightly harder EVA foams on the outside act like a shield and protect against the hardness of the blows by directly bouncing off part of the impact force. In contrast, the softer latex layer on the inside allows the head to be gently embedded and also ensures greater comfort. The forehead and temple areas are particularly well padded because this is where the hardest and most dangerous hits usually land. The extra strong cheekbone-nose protection prevents broken noses and serious injuries to the nose because it is very thick and also covers a very large area. It is therefore close to the nose and absorbs most of the impact force that would otherwise be aimed at the nose. The chin guard fits snugly against the lower jaw and, in conjunction with the cheekbone protector, protects both the chin and the teeth very effectively. The ear openings are padded with foam rings (which run around the ears), which serves both to cushion the blows and to protect the auricles. Additional padding is placed at the back of the head to protect against accidental hits to the very sensitive back of the head, as well as to cushion the impact of your own head on the ground if you fall down (e.g. due to a knockout).
* CARE - This head guard should be stored in a dry, ventilated and shady place to dry after each training session. It should never be exposed to direct sunlight as the sun can damage both the outer material and the foam core. This head guard should be cleaned approximately every 30 training sessions. The synthetic leather upper material should be wiped with a damp cloth and very little detergent. The polyester inner material should be cleaned with a damp brush and a little detergent. This removes dirt, skin residue and perspiration. The detergent also kills most of the bacteria responsible for the unpleasant odor. You can also optionally use a disinfectant (without alcohol) to kill the bacteria. However, you should always make sure that the foam is not soaked with water during cleaning. Wet foam dries very slowly and can impair the function of the head protection and shorten its service life.
ATTENTION: The head guard must never be washed in the washing machine or dried in the dryer or in direct sunlight!
